A Bookish Sort of Post

I quite like the adjective bookish; an interesting term. Sometimes the word carries a negative connotation. For example, withdrawn, awkward Mary in Pride and Prejudice is described as bookish--more in tune with books than real life. However, sometimes it simply means being devoted to reading and study. A great, descriptive word, though I mostly just find it funny-sounding. Bookish. ha!

The following will conclude my bookish post with a few bookish recommendations. (wa waaa)

Recently, I was perusing my bookshelf at home and came across my old Emily books written by L.M. Montgomery, author of the famous Anne of Green Gables series. I might even like them better than the Anne books (and I love the Anne books). The Emily of New Moon series is simply delightful--lovely little books about a girl's coming of age, first love, heartbreak. A story of finding oneself. If you liked the Anne books you are sure to be delighted by the Emily books.

As for me, I am currently reading I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, introduced to me by a roommate. Having first introduced me to the film (which is wonderful), she recommended I read the book. I took her up on her recommendation--I already liked and was familiar with the author. After having the book on hold for almost two months, I was finally able to check it out from the local library. I am only a few chapters in, but I can tell the book is far wittier and more charming even than the film. I'll go ahead and recommend it, but I will also let you know what I think of the book upon completion.

What books are you reading (I am always searching for new, good books!)?
