Admittedly, I am not a giant, but I seem to be eating enough vegetables for two giants! This semester, I have been experimenting with the London AS diet. Developed by rheumatologist, Dr. Ebringer, it is a low starch diet high in protein, fruit, and vegetables. Theoretically, it should ease the symptoms, tissue damage, and bone fusion associated with AS. When so many people have found relief through this diet, I figure I might as well give it a shot. While having always been a fruit and veggies lover, I am now consuming them in greater quantities than ever--a GARGANTUAN amount really.Tonight, after seeing my broccoli fill half my dinner plate, images of me as the jolly green giant flitted through my mind. Ironically, I can't eat peas--too starchy. Since experimenting with this diet I have noted some decreased pain level. However, there are so many variables that it is hard to isolate which specific action is making a difference. Nevertheless, I will continue to see what and how big a difference this will make. And I will continue to feel like the vegetable-loving, jolly, green giant...though less masculine, tall, and green. Also, more covered and shoe savvy.

Laughing hysterically!
Really, the cheeseburger craving is not that weird. Your body is craving fat because there really isn't a lot of fat in those leafy greens. Also, are you eating enough red meat? I know you eat lots of fish and chicken, but you could need the red meat for iron as well as vitamin b-12. So, maybe just eat a naked cheeseburger.
