A few days ago, I flew to Houston. As I was packing, I checked the airline's baggage regulations to make sure I could check two suitcases. Yeah, yeah...its only a five day trip, but I require a lot! Anyways, as I was reading the rules online, I noticed a bullet list of miscellaneous items. Glancing at the list, I read Human Remains. What? Human remains?! For more information, I clicked on the words' hyperlink and read this:
"****** Airlines will not accept human remains as checked baggage; however, a customer may take cremated remains onboard as a carryon item under certain conditions...we recommend that cremated remains be presented for transport in a temporary plastic or cardboard container."
Its comforting to know I won't find someones great, great grandmother spread over my bag after a turbulent flight. However, I became a little anxious. What if the passenger next to me pulled out a little plastic baggie full of dust? Kinda creepy.
Later, during the flight, I was still a little anxious when I noticed the passenger next to me had some plastic bags in her purse. She started to pull a bag out of her purse, and...it was full of snacks. Phew.
